Certificates you may apply for if you completed an out-of-state administrator preparation program.
This list contains full and limited administrator certificates. Limited certificates must be initiated by a Washington State employer on behalf of the educator who is not eligible for full certification.
Full Principal and Program Administrator Certification Application Types
- Residency Principal or Program Administrator - Select this if you completed an administrator preparation program or hold or have held a full administrator certificate in another state with at least three years of out-of-state experience in the role.
- Substitute Principal or Program Administrator - Select this if you completed an administrator preparation program or hold or have held a full administrator certificate in another state with at least three years of out-of-state experience in the role.
- Professional Principal or Program Administrator - Select this if you completed a Continuing Administrator License (CAL) Program in the state of Oregon.
Full Superintendent Certification Application Types
- Initial Superintendent - Select this if you are applying for your first Superintendent Certificate in the state of Washington.
- Substitute Superintendent - Select this if you completed a superintendent preparation program or hold or have held a full Superintendent Administrator Certificate in another state with at least three years of out-of-state experience in the role.
Limited Principal Certification Application Types
Limited certificates must be initiated by a state of Washington employer on behalf of the educator who is not eligible for full certification in the State of Washington
- Conditional Administrator (Principals Only) - Select this if you are working with a Washington employer and have completed a bachelor's degree, but have not yet completed your principal preparation program and master's degree.
