Transition to Kindergarten (TK) Notification of Intent Survey 2025-26
requires all LEAs planning to implement and administer a TK program must submit notification of intent to Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ no later than June 1st before the school year begins. If your LEA is planning to open or expand a TK program, please submit a response to this .
TK Office Hours
We invite administrators and teachers to attend our office hours to discuss any questions or concerns related to TK implementation.
TK Locations and Headcount
The Transition to Kindergarten Headcount List provides the current TK headcount by school, as reported by districts on the 1st of each month.

Transition to Kindergarten (TK) is a legislatively established and authorized program for children who are at least 4-years-old by August 31 and have been identified through a screening process to be in need of additional preparation to be successful kindergarten students in the following school year.
Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ published TK data?on February 5, 2025,?showing that?TK is an effective?strategy for closing opportunity gaps.
Effective July 29, 2024, Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ published permanent rules consistent with the criteria identified in as passed by the legislature.
Bulletin 054-24 provides information about the permanent rules and guidance for local education agencies implementing a TK program.
