Partners and programs are key factors in Washington state's successful support of candidates. Universities, non-profits, education associations, and school districts hire trained NBCTs as facilitators to support candidates through the certification process.

Start a Cohort

NBCTs interested in starting candidate support should reach out to their Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ National Board Regional Coordinator. Cohort approval from Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ requires that the NBCT cohort facilitators attend Facilitator Training. Cohorts should also be sponsored by an organization willing to act as the cohort¡¯s fiscal agent to ensure that facilitators are appropriately compensated for their time and effort working with candidates.

Candidates who receive the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ Conditional Loan are required to participate with an Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½-approved support provider, though all candidates are strongly encouraged to join a cohort. Washington candidates achieve National Board Certification at a rate typically above the national average, in large part due to the robust system of supports offered throughout the state.
